The UK-ASEAN Business Council and the Department for International Trade are delighted to present the UK-Thailand Business Forum 2022. The Forum will follow the inaugural ministerial level UK-Thailand Joint Economic Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting that will discuss expanding bilateral trade and investment.

Through the Integrated Review the UK government has highlighted its tilt to the Indo-Pacific. The forum will explore what the discussions really mean for UK and Thai businesses; and how the discussions set the scene for the UK's future trading relationship with the Kingdom of Thailand.

Thailand is the second largest economy in ASEAN with strong long term growth fundamentals. Since the start of the pandemic, Thailand has seen 9 million new digital consumers – importantly 67% of whom are in non-metro areas. The country's digital growth is one of the highest in Southeast Asia boasting an overall internet economy expected to reach over £45 billion in value by 2025. Despite continued headwinds, the Asian Development Bank forecasts Thailand's economy to grow 3% this year and 4.5% in 2023.

The UK-Thailand trading relationship is worth £5 billion and has significant room for growth. The forum will discuss developing business opportunities with a focus on the JETCO priority sectors which are agriculture, food and drink, financial services, healthcare and tech.

This Forum is by-invitation only. To express an interest in participating please email events@ukabc.org.uk.
