Lucy has had 3 careers, in politics in business and in the civil service.

Currently, she is a Conservative peer, sitting on the Lords EU Committee (and its Financial Services sub-committee), is Chairman of Crown Agents (a not for profit business dating back to 1833) and is a non-executive director of Capita plc, Secure Trust Bank Plc, Thomson Reuters Founders Share Company and Health Data Research UK.

Lucy became a peer in 2013 and was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Business and Minister for Intellectual Property from 2014-2016. She represented the UK on the Digital Single Market and in the EU Competitiveness Council. From 2016-2017 she was the Minister of State responsible for Energy and then Commercial Secretary at the Treasury.

Lucy’s main career was at Tesco from 1997-2013, as Director for Corporate and Legal Affairs, and she served on the Main Board from 2006-2013.

Lucy has previously been a non-executive director of ITV, PwC, Metro AG and other companies. She was President of EuroCommerce, the Brussels retail and wholesale Trade Association, and served on the China Britain Business Council, the UK India Business Council and the CBI Economics Committee.

Before her career at Tesco she was a civil servant and a member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit in Downing Street, having spent her earlier career in what is now DEFRA.

Lucy is an honorary fellow of her old college, Somerville College, Oxford. She is married with four sons and is interested in the arts, cricket, racing and gardening. She lives in Southwark and Wiltshire.

Professor Paul Monks is Chief Scientific Adviser of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Prior to joining the department, he was Pro-Vice Chancellor and Head of College of Science and Engineering at the University of Leicester, where he remains a Professor in Atmospheric Chemistry and Earth Observation Science.

His research experience covers the broad areas of air quality, atmospheric composition and climate change that has provided a platform for translation into diverse areas including forensic science, CBRN, microbiology and food safety, natural resource management and breathomics (breath analysis as a medical diagnostic).

Richard has served Prime Ministers David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson since November 2011 as their Trade Envoy to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and the ASEAN EC. He was also Parliamentary Secretary (PPS) to Ministers in the Foreign and Commonwealth office when William Hague was Foreign Secretary.

Richard has been Chairman of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, a non-departmental government body funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for International Development (DFID) since 2018. The WFD focuses on helping to strengthen democracy in over 20 countries and Richard previously a Director of the Great Britain China centre, another non-departmental government body.

Emeritus Professor in Mechanical Engineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia; President of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences; Team leader for Indonesia BEV enhancement program.

Professor Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro has a long and distinguished academic and public service career. He was a faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Bandung Institute of Technology for more than 30 years since 1980, serving as Department Chairman (1992-1995), and Vice Dean of Academic Affairs (1995-1998).

From 1999-2007 he served as Director-General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education, Indonesia.

He obtained his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, USA in 1985, and his research areas are tribology, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis, mechanical design, and higher education development and policy.

He is a Fellow of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences since 2008.
Currently he serves also as visiting professor in mechanical engineering at Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan.

In April 2018 he was appointed as Special Advisor to Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs, Republic of Indonesia.
He is also a Fellow of The HEAD Foundation Singapore.

Since September 2020 he was appointed as Senior Advisor of CATL - BRUNP on Project / Engineering / Policy for establishment of Lithium-Ion Battery Production Factory and Recycling Center in Indonesia.

Dr Hochadel is an expert in global cities, and currently the Director of Global Business at Connected Places Catapult in London, England. She works with local leaders, entrepreneurs, city and national governments around the world, including the Gulf states, India, Malaysia, Africa, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the Unites States.

She is the author of Local Leadership in a Global Era: Policy and Behaviour Change in Cities (2017, Palgrave Macmillan), exploring the changing role local leaders are playing in addressing local challenges through global engagement.

Dr Hochadel has over two decades of experience in politics & public policy and community, government and international relations. She has served as special adviser to Congressional and Presidential candidates across the United States, as well as for British Members of Parliament; has been a guest lecturer at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government; and proudly serves as a member of the United Nations Global Happiness policy sub-committee.

Dr Hochadel’s Doctorate is from King’s College London in International Political Economy, and she specializes in enabling local governments and leadership around the world to build globally focused economies.

Dr Hochadel is also certified in Advanced Public Diplomacy from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School of Communication; holds a Master’s degree in Psychology, specialising in Diversity Management from Cleveland State University; a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Ohio University; and an Associateship of King’s College in Theology.

Rino Donosepoetro (Donny) was appointed President Commissioner of for Standard Chartered Indonesia in October 2019 after taking on the role of CEO in 2016. Donny became the first Indonesian CEO throughout the 155 years of the Bank’s operations in the country.

In a career spanning over 20 years with the Bank, Donny has held diverse roles across businesses and functions in different markets – Indonesia, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam and Falkland Islands. He joined the Bank as a Graduate Trainee and started his career with Consumer Banking in Indonesia before moving to London in 2002 to take up the role as Executive Assistant to Group CEO.

He then joined the Europe Wholesale Banking team and subsequently the Consumer Banking team for the Middle East out of Dubai in 2004. He then took global responsibilities as Regional Head of Audit for Standard Chartered regions of ASEAN, South Asia, China and North East Asia in 2010.

Before returning to Indonesia, he was the Chief Executive Officer for Standard Chartered in Falkland Islands and Brunei Darussalam.

Donny holds a degree in International Relations and an avid basketball player during his free time. He has been selected as top CEO by SWA Magazine in 2019.

In addition to holding the President Commissioner role for Standard Chartered Indonesia, Donny also currently holds the role of Vice Chairman for ASEAN.

Steven Marcelino (ASEAN Client Engagement Lead at Accenture UK)

Currently, Steven is ASEAN Client Engagement Lead at Accenture Strategy, a global management consulting firm. He is specialising in corporate strategy, legal entity restructuring, digital finance and fintech, and sustainable finance. He is currently driving Accenture’s international engagement at the group’s COP26 Programme Office.

Prior to this role, he led the firm’s ASEAN Capital Market strategy team actively supporting Southeast Asian regulators to develop interconnectedness among ASEAN Capital Markets and to mobilise green financing in the region. He is based in the London office. Prior to Accenture Strategy, he worked in Prime Brokerage division at UBS Investment Bank in its London office.

Outside of work, Steven leads Global Indonesia Professionals' Association (GIPA) which promotes business and investment links overseas through highly talented Indonesian diaspora professionals and executives across G20 and ASEAN states. He took up this global role after co-founding an overseas professionals hub in the UK, called YIPA UK. He was the Executive Director of YIPA UK between 2015-2020 and has represented diaspora professionals at global fora and conferences.
